The LUMI Gift Box: What's Inside, Gift Messages, and Shipping Straight to Her
Most of the questions we get in December are not about the bracelets. They are about the box. Does it come wrapped? Can you send it to her instead of me? Where does my message go? Will it arrive in time? This post answers all of them in one place, so you can order a gift for someone in another city — or another country — and know exactly what she will open.
What arrives
Every LUMI order, single bracelet or gift set, ships in the same embossed LUMI box. The LUMI mark is embossed into the lid rather than printed, so it reads as a gift before it is opened, and there is nothing to wrap — the box is the first thing she sees.
What is inside
Inside the box, three things.
The bracelet, resting in printed tissue. Each one is inspected by hand before it leaves us, because a porcelain bead that survived 1,300°C should not be let down by a loose knot.
A care card. Short version of our care guide: water and perfume affect the cord, not the beads; off at the sink, on again after; store it in this box. It means she does not have to ask you how to look after it.

A gift set — two bracelets chosen to be worn together or split between two people — arrives in one box, both bracelets side by side.
Your message, in the box
At checkout there is an order note field. Whatever you write there, we tuck inside the box with the bracelet. Three lines is the right length; a single sentence is often better. If you would rather not type it in the cart, email it to hello@lumibracelets.com with your order number and we will add it before dispatch.
If you are stuck for words, every product page now opens with a line about what that bracelet stands for — the Qing Hua 8mm is "the pattern she grew up with"; the red 發 is "good fortune, said out loud". Borrow it, or say why you chose that colour for her. The gift for mum post has a short paragraph about Jingdezhen you can copy onto a card as well.
Sending it straight to her
You do not need to receive it first. Enter her name and address as the shipping address at checkout and your own details as the billing address; the box goes to her, the confirmation and tracking come to you.
Orders are dispatched within 1–2 business days from our workshop partner in Shenzhen. After that, transit is about 1–5 business days to Hong Kong, 3–7 to Taiwan, 7–12 to Singapore, and 7–14 to Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States, by SF Express. A tracking number is emailed to you the day it leaves. Hong Kong and Singapore orders ship free with no minimum; Taiwan, Australia, the UK and the US have a flat shipping fee shown in your currency at checkout, free on larger orders — a gift set and one single bracelet together clear the threshold.
For Christmas delivery, order by 17 December for Hong Kong, 4 December for Singapore, 12 December for Taiwan, and 3 December for Australia, the UK and the US. Those are the dates we are confident about, not the latest possible — if you are a day late, write to us and we will tell you honestly whether it will make it.
One note for Taiwan, Australia, the UK and the US: our prices do not include import duties or taxes. If your country applies them to your order, the courier collects them from the recipient on delivery. If that would spoil the surprise, ship it to yourself and hand it over.
If something is wrong
Every piece is inspected before it leaves, but porcelain travels through a lot of hands. If a bracelet arrives chipped or the wrong one is in the box, email hello@lumibracelets.com within 7 days of delivery with the order number and a photo. We send a replacement at no cost, and you do not need to post the damaged one back — keep it, or let her keep it. Because each bracelet is boxed to order, we cannot take change-of-mind returns; if you are unsure of the size, the size guide takes a minute and the elastic cord fits almost every adult wrist (14–18cm).
Three things people ask
Can I send two gifts to two addresses? Yes — place two orders. Each one gets its own box, note and tracking number. If you place one order for two people, both bracelets arrive at one address in one box.
Can I choose which bracelet goes in a gift set? The five sets are fixed pairings that we have worn and know work together. If you want a different pair, order two single bracelets; each arrives in its own box, and your note can go in either.
Will she know what it is? The care card covers the practical side. If you would like her to know more — what blue-and-white is, why no two beads match — this short read is the one most people forward.
