Workshop Notes: A Community Bracelet Afternoon in Yuen Long

This June, LUMI packed trays of Jingdezhen ceramic beads and travelled to Yuen Long for a community bracelet workshop, co-organised with a local non-profit organisation.

Making, together

Around the tables, participants picked through dishes of glazed beads — crackle, blue-and-white, celadon — and strung bracelets sized to their own wrists. No experience needed: just patience, colour, and a little play. Every bracelet left on the wrist of the person who made it.

Why we do this

LUMI's craft comes from the workshops of Jingdezhen, and community sessions like this are how we share it beyond our own studio — with youth and family groups, elderly centres and rehabilitation services across Hong Kong.
